For the first time in the series, Anno 117: Pax Romana introduces a more narrative-driven campaign mode. Players can step into the role of characters such as Marcus or Marcia, navigating political challenges while guiding their settlements through the complexities of Roman governance.

The campaign blends storytelling with the traditional Anno gameplay loop, allowing players to shape their own legacy through economic decisions, cultural policies, and diplomatic choices.
