PLAID was founded in Japan in October 2011 and developed the KARTE customer-experience platform. KARTE entered closed beta in 2014 and launched commercially in 2015. PLAID listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange Mothers market in 2020 and later broadened into additional customer-support and experience products.
