Tracing freelancer.com: from early operations to freelancing and crowdsourcing marketplaces
Freelancer Limited was incorporated in Australia in January 2009 and assembled its marketplace around assets including GetAFreelancer, which it acquired in May that year. The company acquired the Freelancer.com domain in October 2009 and continued adding marketplaces such as Freelancer.co.uk, Scriptlance and vWorker before becoming an ASX-listed online labour marketplace.
