Aterian’s operating business traces to Mohawk Group, incorporated in 2014, while the public parent structure was created in Delaware in 2018 as Mohawk Group Holdings. The company used data and software to acquire and manage consumer-product brands sold heavily through online marketplaces and adopted the Aterian name in April 2021.
