ARKTEK History: From 2006 OEM Graphics Manufacturing to a 2017 Consumer Brand

ARKTEK’s own history makes a useful distinction between manufacturing experience and brand age. The business behind it began in 2006 as Keda Electronics, working as an OEM and ODM supplier of graphics cards for other companies. The ARKTEK brand itself was launched in 2017. Treating 2006 as the brand launch would therefore conflate the manufacturer’s earlier contract work with the later consumer-facing identity.

The OEM/ODM period matters because graphics-card manufacturing is a specialised business even when another company’s name appears on the box. Board layout, component sourcing, power delivery, cooling and production testing all have to track fast-moving GPU generations. Keda’s decade of behind-the-scenes work gave the later ARKTEK label a production base before it had to build its own retail recognition.

From 2006 OEM Graphics Manufacturing to a 2017 Consumer Brand

Launching ARKTEK changed where value was captured. Instead of manufacturing only for other brands, the company could market graphics cards and PC components directly under its own name, taking responsibility for product positioning, channel relationships and after-sales support. That is a different business model even if some of the engineering and factories are shared.

The brand has since expanded beyond graphics cards into motherboards and other components, but its roots remain visible in a focus on performance hardware for DIY systems. It competes downstream of GPU and CPU designers, where implementation choices determine cooling behaviour, acoustics, power limits and price.

Arktek today

ARKTEK currently sells graphics cards, motherboards and other PC components under its own name while drawing on the OEM/ODM manufacturing background that predates the brand launch.

ARKTEK’s history is an OEM-to-brand transition. The 2006 Keda Electronics manufacturing origin explains the engineering and factory experience behind the business; the 2017 ARKTEK launch marks the start of the consumer-facing brand. Keeping those stages separate makes the chronology clearer than a single undifferentiated founding date.
