Penguin Solutions is the current name of the company long known as SMART Global Holdings, whose businesses accumulated more than two decades of experience in computing, memory and related hardware.

During the 2020s the group reshaped its portfolio around high-performance computing and AI infrastructure, including Penguin Computing. It formally changed its corporate name from SMART Global Holdings to Penguin Solutions on 15 October 2024.
