Netskope through the years: building cloud-delivered enterprise security

Netskope was founded in 2012 as businesses began moving data and applications from private networks into cloud services that traditional perimeter security tools could not easily see or control.

How Netskope developed

The company developed cloud access security, secure web gateway and data-protection products and helped popularise the secure access service edge model. Netskope went public in September 2025.

Netskope in 2026

By 2026, Netskope sold a cloud-delivered security platform for web, cloud applications, private applications, data and user access.

Its rise tracks the breakdown of the old corporate network perimeter: when users and applications are distributed, security controls have to follow identity and data rather than a single office boundary.
