Modern meeting spaces require more than just a display and webcam. As hybrid work becomes the norm, organisations need integrated conferencing systems that simplify collaboration while delivering professional audio and video quality. The Lenovo ThinkSmart One with IP Controller addresses this challenge by combining compute, camera, microphones, speakers, and meeting controls into a single unified platform.

Designed specifically for Microsoft Teams Rooms, this solution enables businesses to deploy powerful collaboration technology in small and medium meeting spaces without complicated installations.

A Self-Contained Collaboration Bar

The ThinkSmart One stands out because it integrates computing directly into the conferencing bar. Unlike traditional setups that require a separate mini PC or compute unit, this device includes a built-in system powered by an Intel Core i5 processor with Intel vPro technology. This architecture allows the device to run Windows IoT Enterprise for collaboration environments while supporting enterprise management tools.

Because of this integrated design, organisations can deploy the device quickly and reduce cable clutter in meeting rooms. IT teams also benefit from simplified management and improved security oversight.

Professional Audio and Video Performance

Meeting quality depends heavily on audio and video clarity. Lenovo designed the ThinkSmart One with an integrated Full HD camera, stereo speakers, and an eight-microphone array capable of capturing voices across the room. The microphones include noise and echo cancellation technologies that help ensure participants sound clear even in busy office environments.

Smart camera features such as auto-framing, auto-zoom, speaker tracking, and people counting help keep meetings engaging by automatically adjusting the view based on activity in the room.

Together, these features create a more natural meeting experience for both in-room participants and remote attendees.

Lenovo IP Controller for Simple Meeting Management

The system includes the Lenovo IP Controller, a 10.1-inch touchscreen designed for easy meeting control. With its familiar Microsoft Teams interface, users can start meetings, share content, and manage calls with a single tap.

The controller supports 10-point multi-touch, anti-glare protection, and an anti-fingerprint finish. These features keep the interface responsive while maintaining a professional appearance in meeting spaces.

This dedicated controller removes the need for participants to operate the system directly from a laptop or display, streamlining the meeting process.

Built for Enterprise Management

For IT administrators, the ThinkSmart One integrates with ThinkSmart Manager Premium, a cloud-based management platform. Through this interface, teams can monitor device health, deploy updates, and configure systems remotely from a single dashboard.

The integration with Intel vPro technology also adds additional layers of remote management and security, allowing IT departments to maintain consistent configurations across multiple meeting rooms.

Hardware Specifications at a Glance

Key technical specifications of the ThinkSmart One system include:

Processor: Intel Core i5-1145G7E (11th Gen)

Graphics: Intel Iris Xe Graphics

Memory: 8GB DDR4

Storage: 256GB NVMe SSD

Camera: Integrated Full HD 1080p

Microphones: 8-microphone array with echo and noise cancellation

Speakers: Integrated stereo speakers

Controller: 10.1-inch touchscreen Lenovo IP Controller

Operating System: Windows IoT Enterprise for collaboration environments

Connectivity: USB-C, USB-A, HDMI-in, dual HDMI-out, Ethernet, and headset jack

This configuration provides enough computing power to support modern collaboration platforms while maintaining a compact form factor suitable for meeting rooms.

Designed for Small and Medium Meeting Rooms

The ThinkSmart One system targets small to medium collaboration spaces, such as huddle rooms and team meeting areas. Its integrated design eliminates the need for multiple devices while maintaining enterprise-grade conferencing performance.

Wall mounting options and adjustable brackets also allow organisations to position the conferencing bar in ways that fit different room layouts.

Supporting the Future of Hybrid Work

As organisations continue adapting to hybrid work models, reliable conferencing infrastructure becomes increasingly important. The Lenovo ThinkSmart One with IP Controller simplifies deployment while delivering the audio clarity, video intelligence, and management capabilities required in modern workplaces.

By combining hardware, software, and meeting controls into one integrated system, Lenovo provides a streamlined solution designed to help teams collaborate effectively regardless of where participants join from.

In the ever-shrinking world of business laptops, where the thinnest often compromise on power and the lightest on durability, the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 arrives like a seasoned executive: sleek, intelligent, and ready to outpace the competition. But is it just another premium ultrabook, or has Lenovo redefined what “pro-grade” really means?

Let’s dig into why this latest generation might be the smartest ThinkPad yet.

A New Aura: Built for the AI-Driven Professional

The Gen 13 isn’t just a spec bump—it’s a philosophy shift. With Lenovo’s Aura Edition branding, the X1 Carbon now embraces the Copilot+ PC ecosystem, integrating a dedicated AI engine (NPU) that enables real-time eye tracking, privacy-aware dimming, background blur during calls, and even screen content optimization based on what you’re working on.

This isn’t just marketing fluff. In testing, the AI features felt subtle but purposeful—cutting distractions, boosting focus, and delivering a smoother workflow. It’s like having a digital assistant that doesn’t interrupt your flow, but quietly improves it.

Specs That Don’t Just Impress—They Enable

Component

Details

Processor

Intel Core Ultra 7 258V (Lunar Lake, 47 TOPS AI NPU)

RAM

32 GB LPDDR5x-8533 MHz (soldered)

Storage

512 GB PCIe Gen 5 SSD (configurable to 2 TB)

Display

14” OLED, 2880×1800, 120Hz matte, 400 nits

Weight

~2.1 lb (957g)

Battery

57 Wh (~9 hrs mixed use, 17 hrs video playback)

Connectivity

Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, optional 5G

Ports

2× USB-A, 2× Thunderbolt 4, HDMI 2.1, 3.5mm, nano-SIM slot

Real-World Use: The Road Warrior’s Dream

I took the X1 Carbon Gen 13 on a five-day business trip. From airport lounges to late-night PowerPoint edits, the experience was seamless:

Typing: The keyboard is ThinkPad gold—responsive, quiet, and sculpted. It remains the gold standard for productivity.

Battery: 8–9 hours of real work (email, browser tabs, video calls) was consistent. Not MacBook-tier, but respectable.

Heat: Quiet most of the time, with moderate heat under load—manageable even on the lap.

Build: Rigid, matte, and deceptively light. I tossed it in a satchel without a case. No flex. No scuffs.

This is a laptop that disappears into your workflow—in the best way.

Who Should Buy This?

This is not a laptop for gamers or casual users. But if you’re a consultant, developer, lawyer, writer, designer, or anyone living out of an airport lounge, the X1 Carbon Gen 13 is built for you.

It’s your edge in a room full of distractions—a partner that works as hard (and as quietly) as you do.

Final Thoughts

The Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 doesn’t scream for attention—it earns it. It’s the kind of laptop that quietly powers your day, gets out of your way, and never lets you down. In a world obsessed with flashy specs, this ThinkPad proves that performance isn’t just about numbers—it’s about experience.

Let us be honest, one screen just does not do it anymore with multiple applications open. I can personally see increased productivity and better planned meetings by being able to just seeing my calendar on a personal device like this. Multi-tasking is something that everyone needs to do and now being able to join a sales call from a device like this makes life a lot easier.

Below is an extract from Microsoft’s website with all the features that it will support.

1. All-in-one dedicated Teams devices
Microsoft Teams displays bring together your favorite Teams features: chat, meetings, calls, calendar, and files into a single device, promoting human connection in the remote workplace. With Teams displays, you can enjoy a high-quality microphone, camera, and speakers (or Bluetooth headset) for a reliable calling and meeting experience.

Dedicated Teams devices like Bluetooth headsets (left) and displays (center) create a more reliable calling and meeting experience.

2. Glanceable ambient personalizable displays
Microsoft Teams displays help you stay on top of your busy work with always-on displays highlighting important activities and notifications and removing distractions from your primary work device. Also, you can personalize your Microsoft Teams displays by changing your wallpaper and additional personalization options will become available.

Microsoft Teams displays can be personalized to include wallpapers and highlight important activities and notifications.

3.
